- Roxana Ortega was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley and started working in theater and independent film in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her love of improvisation and comedy brought her to Los Angeles to study at the world renowned Groundlings Theater. Her first acting break came quickly, when she landed a role playing the sweet teacher, Miss Gordon, opposite Sandra Bullock, in Miss Congeniality II. Since then she has worked in both dramatic and comedic roles on television (The Shield, Crossing Jordan, All of Us) and in independent films. Her next feature film performance will be as a sassy White House reporter in the upcoming Evan Almighty. Her improvisation and sketch performances have gained deserved attention in Los Angeles. The LA Weekly has called her a "breakout comedian." NBC award ed her a scholarship to the Upright Citizen's Brigade and CBS chose her to be a part of their Sketch Comedy Showcase. She is currently a performing member of the Groundlings Sunday Company.
