Fun movie with a great message
This movie does a great job of pointing out how hypocritical and small- minded some "righteous" folks can be without being overbearing. It's sweet and funny and isn't afraid to poke fun at itself. I felt like it illustrated how everyone has a story and that learning a person's story is more important than jumping to conclusions. I really had a great time watching this movie.
A Very Sordid Holiday Treat....
Having been a huge fan from Sordid Lives, and the series, this sequel doesn't let me down. I saw it on the 2nd of July and it was the perfect kick off for my holiday weekend. Having grown up in the South I so understand and get this film. However, you don't have to be southern to understand this movie it is universal. The humor and honesty in this film really touch my heart and my funny bone...

Del keep up the good work I look forward to much more from you in the future. You make me laugh and make me proud to be who I am.
Incredible film! It's a "must-see" movie.
"A Very Sordid Wedding" is an incredibly funny, yet very important film. The movie combines humor (and it is roll-in-the-aisles-side-splitting funny, so get ready to laugh out loud), wonderful writing, serious performances from its remarkable cast, with a deep insight into how the LGBT movement goes forward by confronting religious intolerance in America's churches. After all these years, we are again visited by the comical cast and characters of the "Sordid Lives" story. Del Shores, Emerson Collins and the remarkable cast outdid themselves with this movie. This film is the best one I have seen in a long, long time and should be a "must-see" movie for everyone. This movie will soon be seen as a classic. Go see it!
Great movie.
If you are a fan of the original you will adore this movie. Funny, great cast. A must see! Don't listen to the negative troll reviews, they have an agenda to stop people from watching and spreading the love not hate movement! This to will become a classic pro gay family movie. Risked out to buy and add to my collection as soon as it came out and was not disappointed one bit!
Excellent as always
This is a must see for any Sordid Lives fan. The message is wonderful . Leslie Jordan is superb as Brother Boy and the rest of the ensemble breathes life into Dels characters. This may just be Del Shores personal best. If this movie is being brought to your city Run and see it. Get Sordid y'all
EVERYTHING Sordid fans have been waiting for!!! A+
I wish that I could crawl inside of the brilliant mind of Del Shores and find out what has kept him writing original and fresh comedy for decades! If you are fan of the original Sordid Lives movie, then you will love A Very Sordid Wedding. Not only does it catch you up with what has been going on with all your favorite characters, but there is a wonderful message for today....in 2017. Equality! Love! Hope! Tolerance! Peace! This movie will make you laugh, cry, tinkle your pants as you're screaming laughing and cheer! Don't miss this wonderful movie which I think could also be called The Gospel According to Dell!
A Very Sordid Wedding - Truly a MUST SEE!
I can't wait to see it and own yet another great creation of Del Shores! Everything by Del is incredible! Emerson Collins and Louise Beard are awesome as well as the cast(s) of Sordid Lives, the movie and Series, Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will, Blues For Willadean, and Southern Baptist Sissies. Just trying not to leave anyone out who has participated in any of these films. Be sure to get this movie! You won't be disappointed...I'm a huge fan and always looking' forward for anything upcoming from my Sordid family members. love y'all !
Did you find me?
The film centers on a family living in a small white conservative town. With the brother being a cross dresser and the son being gay and having married a black man, the family changes its views in order to be a family again.

The film had a lot of good characters that kept falling short. The action and dialogue was too trite and scripted. The church climax scene with the Bible challenge was an over used argument. The film would have been good with some minor script adjustments and some stars in the major roles...like Meryl Streep.

Guide: F-word. Brief sex. Brief male nudity.
Loved the next chapter of Sordid Lives!! The characters have become Icons to gay Community!, Thank You Del for another glimpse into the lives of some of the Funniest people I would Lve to know!! I hope people watch with the attitude of being entertained, And Not be too judgmental.
OPPS! I think I wet myself!!!!!
Del Shores and the complete cast have given me and a full house crowd one wild laugh after another. There was even a moment when the entire madcap house was brought to profound whimpers and tears as the story evolved. I have not experienced such emotional whiplash since Sally Field and Steel Magnolias.
